Cutivate Lotion

by dave212, May 21, 2008 02:58PM
I had protected sex with a one night stand and about 24 hours later I noticed an itchy red area about the size of my finger nail on the top of my penis.  The irritated area is slightly splotchy in appearance. A few days later the itchy redness had not gone away and seems to have spread a little bit. So today I went to a dermatologist. He told me that he does NOT think it's an STD and he said he thinks its a contact dermatitis perhaps caused by the latex condoms. He gave me some CUTIVATE cream to treat it with. I am surprised by this because I have used latex condoms many times in the past and have not had this type of irritation.  He said he's 90% sure its not an STD.

I have been reading online how if it is herpes then steriodal cream will make it worse. Do I need to worry about using CUTIVATE cream on my penis in case of misdiagnosis?
