cramps & bloating 2 dpiui

by lifeinrain, May 21, 2008 05:18PM
hi ladies, I'm new to this forum.  last month my hubby and I did an IUI, got a BFP on 13 dpo, but turned out to be a chemical pregnancy.  It was heartbreaking, but 2 days ago (mon may 19) we did another IUI.  I took 100 mg clomid from days 5-9, and I'm on metformin 2000 mg/ day.  I don't really have a problem, but my hubby has veeeery low motility.  both times now they've told us we have next to no chance of getting pregnant w/ iui.  (we did the 1st time though!)  anyway, today I've been having PMS type cramps and bloating all day, down low.  anyone else experience this?  Also, when the dr did a scan before the iui, he said I'd already ovulated.  but I had 2 positive opks that day. ?  I'm so confused.  I want to get pregnant more than anything.  anyone else gone through anything similar?  anyone else gotten pregnant with very low motile sperm?

I'm so sorry to hear what you have been through. It is a tough road I know. I wanted to let you know I have not done IUI but my husband also has low motile and we did get PG with IVF. Sadly ended with MC though. We are now on our 3rd try. How ever I have a freind who was also told IUI would not work for her and she just did her 3rd IUI. The first she got PG and sadly MC'd, the 2nd attempt failed, but today she just learned she is PG again from IUI. She said she knows when the DR does it right because she gets AF cramps after. So, I think the cramps are a good sign. The failed cycle she told me right away she knew it would not work because there were no cramps or bloating. Please, if you can't do IVF then don't give up on IUI. This is her 2nd pregnancy from it and she was told it would be a waste of money and time. I have also heard of girls on here who use Preseed when they do IUI. It helps with motility. You might check into it.

thank you sooo much for the encouragement!  I really hope I get pregnant this time and that it sticks.  ;o)  I'm sorry to hear about your m/c after IVF.  I feel like that would just kill me, as I know that procedure is so expensive.  it's not really an option for us anytime soon, as we're on a super tight budget.  did they tell you if the m/c was related to a problem with your husband's sperm?  I'm wondering if that's why I m/c last month.
thanks again...it's so great to have support going through this.

No they never told me why. I think it's just the way it is. It was around Xmass and I was out running around alot. I may have over done it. I will never know, I just have to move on. We are getting ready to do FET wich realy is saving us money. We only had enough for 3 tries and so this is #3 and with us having our Snow Angels it is saving us a ton. We are planning a trip with the left over money. A much needed trip. But this is my last and final go at it, so the pressure is on. Then I am thinking I may try to talk hubby into IUI, if we can swing it.  Chemical Pregnancies are just as hard as MCs, so I am truely sorry for you having to go through that. I truely hope this time is a BFP for you and that you do well. LOADS OF LUCK
