sumetallic surgical clips

by orphanedbysociety, May 21, 2008 07:38PM
I had 3 xrays of my back 6 days ago. It showed mulitipal surgical clips in my mid / lower left
abdomen and to the left. I wonder if the were left there by mistake. I had a plastic aorta put in
me 6 years ago.

I doubt they were left by mistake. I had major abdominal surgery nearly 3 years ago, and my surgical clips still show up on all my x-rays and CT scans. From what I know, they use them to pinch off bleeding blood vessels.
Hope this helps...

Yep.  I have more than 20 of them from my mastectomy.  And I never even set off the airport security alarms!
