fish testing

by rodlv, May 22, 2008 08:51AM
my wife had a mole on her rt inside lower leg that she hit with the shaver couple months ago. It started getting red and painfull so she went to a dermo. and the dr. removed the surface and sent for lab test. a week later dr called and said it was a spitz mole wich is pre cancer so she would have to cut more out so she went and had it cut out. then two weeks later went back to have stitches taken out and the dr. said the local lab wants to send it ou for a fish test and you are going to need more surgey . Now the lab in ca, called and said ins. wont pay for it, that the ins co. does not consider this test part of the injury or illness and we would have to pay for the test. I have been out of work since nov. of 07 and bairly getten by on my wifes money from working at the grocery store. It doesnt seem right that this test wouldnt be part of this injury or illness, do you think it is that the doctor needs to call the ins co. and give a better description of the value of this test for treatment of this injury, we were told the test #s are (88275) (88367) (88291) (88271) are there any groups taht help when someone cant afford this test?, is this test really necc. if the dr is going back in for the second time to cut more out? thank you so much any help ???
