Not a clue

by BConz, May 22, 2008 12:39PM
The following symptoms could be completely random and unrelated, but in the past couple months I've had some unusual symptoms that are starting to worry me.  I'm a 23 year old graduate student and was diagnosed with scabies about 2 months ago.  I had scabies a long time ago, and this felt and looked nothing like it.  I took the medicine that was prescribed to me, and the symptoms let up some, but not entirely.  Since then, my hands, arms, and shoulders have started going completely numb, aching, or feeling a pins and needles sensation.  The rest of my body is really sore as well.  Along with the weird skin rash, I developed a bunch of new, really dark freckles seemingly overnight.  I am incredibly tired all the time, no matter how much I sleep.  Although, I have felt fatigued like this for probably 6 months now.  I also have a history of chronic headaches and constipation.  My menstrual cycles are really painful as well.  I have no idea if any of these symptoms are related, but as I was researching different things online, I came across fibromyalgia.  Some of my symptoms are consistent with this disorder and auto immune diseases run in my family.  My grandmother has fibromyalgia, my aunt has lupus, and my mother is in the process of getting diagnosed with MS.  Because we are in the thick of things with my mom, I don't want to be to hasty in pinpointing an auto immune disease, but I'm really clueless at this point.  I've had a couple visits with my family doctor, but they just think it's the scabies.  Although, my mom has had severe problems for 2 years now and she has yet to be officially diagnosed.  Anyway, that's what's going on.  Any information or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
