Concieving with HPV

My fiance' and I are trying to concieve and it just isnt working for us. I have HPV but I have no warts or symptoms and only occasionally does it show up in my pap test which I have done at least every six (6) months. I was previously told that HPV can make concieving difficult or in some cases impossible, however my most recent physician told me that she doesnt think my HPV should affect my fertility or chances of concieving. My question is then why after nearly 8 months of counting days, taking temps, laying with hips elevated etc. are we still not pregnant? Anyone have any ideas?
