Dad Dying

by Arendt, May 23, 2008 01:34AM
HI

I need answers as my dad is diabetic and has been quite terminal now for about 3 months, he has coronary heart disease but is too ill to go for a triple bypass. He needs a hip replacement but he has a 20%chance of surviving the operation. He is in the end stage of kidney failure and his kidney are deteriorating quick, he is not supposed to be taking insullin as the insulin is making the kidney weaker but if he does not take the insulin he can go in to a diabetic coma. He cannot walk anymore so he is lying in bed or sitting in a wheel chair. he had a siezure about a week a go due to the kidney's getting too much insulin. My mother took him to the renal clinic yesterday and his heart rate at the moment is 135 and doctor is worried. He said that the heart is working over time as everything else is getting worse. He had pain in his left arm last night.

I just need someone with expereince to maybe tell me what my dad's chance are of suffering for much longer, I hate to see him suffer the way he is now. He is 61 years old, he turns 62 now in july, I wonder if he will make it.

Any answer or advice will help

Thank you
michelle

I hope things work out for your Dad and hope some doctors on this forum can advise. Hang in there, and ask your Dad to keep fighting the good fight.

No doctor will answer in this forum.  May be the hidden one or very experience person (We suspected they're doctors) but they said they're not.  Go to the Expert Forum.  There are doctor/s answered all the question.  So far they haven't missed one!
