yes, definitely no sugar and complex carb only, low protein, low iron.

this will help avoid INF induced diebeties, intestinal blockage.high ammonia and iron levels, all of which will make one feel much worse if they occur.

snack on Zone friendly item.....exaple:fresh fruit and cheese, rice cake with no fat creeme cheese, or peanut butter and no sugar jam..

try to incorporate some fat into your riba meals, and not too much fiber with the Riba, to absorb it better.
this last thing won't make you feel better..as the more riba you absorb, the worse you'll feell lbut at least you'll be killing more virus.

Thanks so much ,
I've been getting to much sugar . I've been craving fresh fruit . Watermelon, canaloupe  Oranges. Should I cut back on these as well? (or just eat them with a cheese or protein) How about honey on the oatmeal?
I'm all about killing the virus and appreciate all the information I can get on the subject. It feels allot better when the Riba makes you sick knowing that little gem of info.
One thing getting sick teaches you is how to take care of yourself.
I think I'll start a thread on all the blessings and positive life changes having a challenge  like this can bring. I've learned to appciate so many diffrent things about life that I was taking for granted . All the Best, Jan

Ice cream ice cream ice cream and more ice cream again!

I had the tongue ulcers REALLY bad throughout my entire 72 weeks and eating became a real chore because everything hurt. But ice cream well...what a treat to have an excuse to eat it as much as I wanted! All those FLAVORS! And the nice fat for the riba to bind to!!!

Honestly - on treatment eat what you can that you decide makes YOU feel well.  Of course, avoid things high in iron since we are forbidden any of that and I found that greasy fried foods Killed MY stomach (but not everyones).

Watermelon and fruit are a wonderful thing for you to eat - I had SEVERE sugar cravings due to the interferon (I think) I mean horrible....I could have eating a bowl of the stuff...so I found it I could drink OJ or eat fruit it helped me a bit.

Good luck with it all.  I've found over time anything YOU can do to make YOURSELF feel better while on treatment - go for it! Make sure you get lots and lots of rest (I personally made Saturday my "day of rest" and I never got out of the bed...I got some treats and the remote control and just napped and watched tv and it was WONDERFUL.  It's another thing we never ever get to do during adult life...so I made it a treat instead of a sick day! It really helped me to get through the long work weeks just knowing that my special rest day was coming up!

I have added HepatPro to a moderate low iron plant protein rich diet and I am back to 75 minutes on a rowing machine with a heart rate of 125.  Stage 3  1A 2 times loser
Before i was unable to do 10 minutes. I am not really connecting the dots on this but the difference ids astounding for me.
