Molluscum? Follicle issue? Irritated birthmark?

by NegativeCreep, May 24, 2008 01:46PM
Thursday evening I noticed this painless, itchless bubble-type bump thing on the pubic bone area I guess (right smack where the hair is thick where the kind of "hill" is near your vulva, where women would leave hair if they had that "strip" after shaving). So I tried to pop it and it didn't "pop" even though it looked as if it may. Instead it just kind of flattened and clear fluid came - or was just on my fingers, it didn't squirt or even flow really. It was hard to make it rupture I should mention and I could barely tell it did It still seemed raised even after I did. Still no real pain- kind of reminds me of a callous.

I had two doctors look at it, both said not a wart and not herpes. One said hair follicle issue, I got a second opinion for peace of mind the other said possibly molluscum but she can't tell 'cause I've been messing with it but that from what I said about no "core" coming out and it not "popping" like so, and that the only fluid was clear, she thinks it is just a hair-follicle issue. Yet I'm still worried cause I'm not sure.

First I tried popping it in the shower and that's when the clear thing happened but it still remained. Then, I thought a dark spot lining one side of the bubble-thing may have been a hair so I grabbed it with tweezers and pulled. Well I grabbed skin and it bled a little ... but just out of that side. It still seemed raised. I put a bandaid over it as well as some alcohol on it. Then last night I stuck a needle in it thinking maybe I just didn't pop it right if it was Molluscum and ... no puss and it bled. Nothing crazy. The area around it appeared slightly dark and there was a small scab-like thing where the needle went. It's still didn't hurt me or itch (don't wanna jinx it), no funny fluids.

Then this morning in the shower, I washed it and scrubbed it and some white scar-tissue (like what would hold a scab onto skin?) came loose. I figured it may be that core thing everbody talks about with molluscum, but nope - I'm pretty certain it was indeed scar-tissue stuff so I pulled it off (it was attatched to my skin). As of now there is just a red mark as if I picked a scab, with a red dot int he middle (presumably fromt he needle), and it still isn't doing anything. Not hurting or itching, just sitting there. I've cleaned it with alcohol however.

Please help me out - what is this thing? It's been since Thursday and no pain or itching, it hasn't spread.

A few points-

- There was no itching, no pain when popping, touching, or left alone. In fact it barely hurt after it was popped and poked

- The only thing that seemed to "come out" was a bit of clear fluid. It didn't flow out either, I only noticed it when looking at the tips of my two fingers used to try to pop it

- It was hard to pop and didn't seem to really go down perse, rather get smaller. After poking it and it bleeding a bit, it did go down. Still no pain or itching.

- The area was recently exposed to a lot of friction and it's where there is a large concerntration of pubic hair.

- It's been two days.

- I may have had a beautymark/birthmark there
