white patches on roof of mouth

by bp28, May 25, 2008 12:09AM
I caught a sore throat and decided to shine a light on the back of my mouth with the use of a mirror, it looked of signs of infection, not a bad one. However I noticed that the front portion of the roof of my mouth had lost the normal pinkness of the rest of my mouth had, it looks white. the skin is white color and goes back about an inch and then begins to 'freckle' back to pinkness. I've never noticed this before, the skin feels like it always has, it does not hurt, nor is there any bumps or sores, I don't smoke or drink or any thing. Is this something I should be worried about?

I have this same issue, EXACTLY.  Same inch+ patch of white, no noticable bumps, sores, bleeding, nothing... just... white.  Like you, I don't smoke (though I did in high school for about a week... realized it wasn't for me... gross.  I also drink wine (red) about once per week, tops, about one glass with supper.  I did drink Disarrono (amaretto) about 1-2 years ago... very strong stuff but so tasty, like sweet almonds.

Anyhow, how are you doing with that?  I first noticed this on me about... oh, 4+ months ago, and who knows how long I had it before then?  Let me know how you're doing, and what you've learned.  It appears I'm the first to respond to you on here in over a month.  Ugh... Talk to you soon, and hope you're doing well!
