Your concern about the lump is understandable.
It is possible that the lump that first appeared was also a cyst. Since then, it may have undergone changes and even fibrosis to have becone hard.
Epididymal cysts are known to be harmless and do not turn cancerous
Do you also have any swelling of the lymph nodes in your groin?
Any infectious or neoplastic changes would be reflected in the lymph nodes draining from the area.
As the lump has not grown in size, and has not caused any other symptoms, it is unlikely to be a malignant tumor.
If you still need to be clear about the cause of the lump, you can request your doctor to advise/ recommend a FNAC for evaluating the lump further.
