i've been having the same weird throat noise when moving my upper body -- if you're curious, there's another thread about it here:

the more my son moves around the louder and "strange" breathing he does. cardilogist says it is asthma (which he does have but it isn't that) he saw 2 pulmnologist and 2 ENTs who all agree that it isn't asthma that infact he does have a narrowing in his throat just below his voice box. it didn't show anything on his first brohncoscopy(sorry for speling it wrong) they are gong to repeat it with a different type of tubing (a stiffer one) and they are also gong to do a some other test I for got the name, now thye aren't sure if it is from him being on a ventaltor or if his is his cardiac issues. they really feel it is the vent. issues.
when he gets sick it is worse. he is only 4 1/2 and it has taken me 4 years to finally get my answers
good luck

Vocal cord issues can cause unusual sounds.

Whether it is that or something else, one person's diagnosis of something inflammatory could be another person's diagnosis of cancer. A doc needs to see/hear where your sounds are coming from. That's a significant obvious change to not tend to. With 3 major systems in that area of the body (respiratory, cardiac, digestive) there's a lot of room for guessing.
