Hi, I myself am on day 8 from a long nasty addiction of the same. I wish I could tell you its gonna be over quickly, but its not. It does however depend on how much and how long you have been taking them. I started to fell "spurts" of better after day 4, but, everyone is different. Look up the thomas recipe, as it does help. This is a great place to post, lots of people here to help.

Hi. I am on my first day without any pain pills, and it's not fun. I've tried a few times before, never making it past day one, but this time is for real. It really depends on how much you take, and how long you been addicted. I hear that day three is the worst, but its a long drawn out battle. After the physical wd's are over, then its all mental. You have to be strong and stay away from those evil pills, any opiates. Keep posting, it helps. Good luck, my prayers are with you.

I'm on day 37 and it's all better by now (except for the cravings...esp on a long weekend...but they are way easier to handle too).

For me, the first 3 days were the worst, then by day 4 I felt a little better, I got out and exercised and from there on each day was at least a little better.  It did take a while to get to here...

For the first 3 days, warm/hot baths or showers, bananas and the Thomas Recipie all made it better.

Good luck and congrats on taking the biggest step, the first one!

hey, i am now on day 4 of detox - this was actually supposed to be day 8 just like limodan (we started together and met on here).  but, if you read any of my journals, you'll see that i had a slip. so back to square one. it is really hard, but you don't need me to tell you that.  i've been doing the thomas recipe and walking and hot baths and good diet and i also take a beta-blocker (prescription heart med) to control my heart rate.  I will be on here on and off most days if you need a helping hand or need to talk.

congrats on getting started..You should be fine with a months worth of valium..please be careful with that and try not to take it if you don't need to..

babygirl-nobody can tell you exactly how long it will take..generally the physical w/d gets better by the end of the week..everyone is different.

by CadillacJack, May 27, 2008 11:38AM
Sadie's right; Everyone is different. It depends on time taking, and amount to some degree, I believe. I used for about 15 years, ending with 80-100 mg a day. Much lower than some, higher than others, but a long time. I'm on day 44, and I'm doing fairly good now. Not completely back, but close. In all honesty, it took me about 20 days to really turn the corner, although I did start to get over the worst of the w/d in about 1 week. I hope that doesn't scare you, as it really wasn't a killer. But very uncomfortable, none the less.

Thanks for all your supportive comments, I mean I can't remember right now what day I am on but, I am doing it without valiums or anything... I am in so much pain.  My boyfriend stopped helping me after the 4th or 5th day so I feel really lonely.  I think that he thinks that I am alright.  But the cravings are still there and it's sickening on how  i could just get it all back with just a phone call to my doctor.

The pain alone is killing me, I feel like my bones are going to cave into my body, I think I'm dying sometimes....  I just want it to be over, over, over but I crave it all the time.

Thank god for my kids, they make me want to be a better person....

I know that you are feeling like you want to just curl up and be left alone to waste away. . believe me, that's how I feel a lot of the time.  But then I think about my two boys and ask myself, "Where would I be in one month or one year if I stay on the path that I'm on?" Would I be so doped up that my kids would get taken away from me or mistreated?  Would I be in need of a liver transplant because I had basically put mine through the garbage disposal?  ALWAYS think of your kids. . .THAT is the key.  You HAVE to stop because you WANT to be around to see your children grow up to be wonderful people. . stay strong baby girl, I will be around if you need to talk.

The bad craving are just part of the withdrawal process. It will get a little better every day.

by babygirl167, Jun 08, 2008 05:33PM
Today is day 19 and I am feeling soo much better.  I went for a 7 mile hike yesterday with my family and today I am a little sore but feel great.  Every day is better than the last.

I just want to get better,  I can't go back to that ever again, things are just so great.
