Would you know which specific lymph nodes were enlarged? Were they only the lymph nodes near the penis. or where the nodes in the neck and armpits also included?
The post doesn't sound very clear, as it seems that a prostate infection or a urinary tract infection was being treated. Neither condition actually involves the lymph nodes.
I think you need to discuss all the findings with the doctor. Some of them may be overlooked or may be deemed trivial, but may actually be important.
He has been dealing with this for about 4 months now. He is now taking a 30 days supply of antibiotics. He also have a refill for 30 days more of them.
His arm and leg is starting to have tingling. This comes and goes. Started last Sunday,a week ago, and now this Sunday it did it again.
I am just worried about him and what might be going on.
Also worried about if it might be cancer and the antibiotics is just knocking it down some. He has lost weight(about 5 lbs) but his normal weight is only about 118 lbs.
One more thing, Can I get the infection from him, if we have intercourse? I don't want to be pasting this back and forth. We us having sex,can this help clear up the prostate infection faster?
Thanks for you question back to me.
Trish
The presence of lymph nodes around the neck raises the possibility of infection that is disseminated, hence the problem is no longer prostatitis. An evaluation of the blood may be in order to find what the infection is to guide the therapy. Other avenues to explore would be analysis of the nodes themselves, to find out what is causing the enlargement –this can be done via needle puncture of some nodes.
Intercourse would not be therapeutic for the prostatitis, and raises issues of getting yourself infected.
