I am 22 w/ an arrhythmia, palps, anxiety, and GERD

by LovieV, May 27, 2008 04:06AM
I have been having chest pains since March. My doc said that it was costochondritis(immflamtion in my rib cage and sternum). I am 22 years old and have anxiety really bad. As of late mostly all this month, I have been experiencing them now more than it was in march. And as of this past week I have been experiencing heart palpitations every morning. The heart beats never go over 100/min but, it's scary when your heart wakes you up pounding and it is like that throughout the whole intire day. I was wondering what could be making my heart race and pound so hard? The arrhytmia, anxiety, or GERD?

And being that I have had this costochondritis since march what else can I ask my doc to check for for the immflamation?

I am taking prilosec 20mg for acid reflux  and Xanax .25mg for anxiety?
Still having chest pain even sharpness radiating from chest straight to my back

it's quite normal for a heart rate to be 1oo/bpm i would say it was anxiety if it beats anything up to 120/bpm if it goes over this you would have some sort of heart condition, but i doubt that is the case.

palps can be triggered by many things, caffine, alcohol, multi vitamins, medication,  exercise & lack of exercise, or just stress.  the best thing to find the triggers would be to keep a diary. good luck kimmie

STRESS,STRESS AND MORE STRESS can cause all of the above that you mention. My wife has  costochondritis and I have her doing light excercise with
elastic bands and  that helps. you have to take Yoga or meditation class.
first check with your DR. The bands you buy at any sporting goods store.
Also if you can join a Curves it did wonders for my wife.
