moderate head trauma

by NatsF, May 27, 2008 11:25AM
My brother was recently in a car accident. The neuro has advised that he has suffered a moderate TBI and that he will not be able to work for the next 6 months. This is okay, however i would like to know, the following.
1. it is a month after the incident, he sustained injuries to his hand where pins had to be inserted, but no other physical injuries.
2. CT showed no bleeds etc, however he does not have any re-collection of the incident or seemingly anything prior to this for about a year.
3.He is an auditor - what and how would we know if he still has knowledge of what he has previously studied.
4. His behaviour has changed, he is more loving to all around, however is very irratable with my mom who is trying to do the phsio for his hand with him, and who also spends the most time with him (they live together)
5. Would he at anytime recall the events that he now seems to have forgotten. He does remember Idno and tel no's etc, does get a bit confused aat times, and is very talkative, which is the direct opposite of personality as to before.
6.Do people recover from moderate TBI?would he be able to enter the workplace again?Does not seem to have any problems socially, except not remembering sporadic events that take place. sometimes rememebers some of the events of the day before, other times not
