The insomnia can really be the problem that is causing all of these other problems. Sleep deprivation can really cause an upset in the balance of neurotransmitters and hormones such that by the time a person sleeps, he goes through the different sleep stages very irregularly and unpredictably causing these symptoms that you have described. Apnea may also be just one of the conditions arising from this primary problem. You may consult with a sleep clinic regarding this problem to assess your pattern of sleep.
