lump on head

I recently noticed a bony lump on my head. It is on the lower part of my skull, just slightly left of center on the back of my head. It is assymetrical, kind of V shaped. It is not movable and seems to be made of bone. It is not sore or painful, but it is annoying because it rubs on my hardhat at work. In the last 2 months it seems to have gotten a little bigger. Any ideas of what is most likely causing this?
