I was diagnosed having an ITP 6 yrs ago, with medications of steroid for a year after i was diagnosed. at present no intake of any medications related to ITP. until now my platelets are less than normal, but without manifestation of any symptoms. 6 days ago i went for a medical consultation due to a lump feet and edema at my ankle.I had a leg xray and no problem was seen on my xray, then an ultrasound with droppler wherein they saw a clogged vein. they diagnosed it as insufficient venous artery, and my blood chemistry result found out also there that i my SGOT is 66.3 and SGPT is 112.0 which is higher than the normal range... Is an elevated SGOT and SGPT is somewhat associated with my ITP or having the lump and edima in my feet. I had previous exam with SGOT and SGPT and all of the are within the normal range. I get bothered thinking of whats going on with my system  to think that i have ITP. Is there someone out there who can help me answer my question. I am very much alarmed. thanks.

It is possible that the low platelet count is related to the elevated liver enzymes, but only a doctor could make a definitive diagnosis; they would need further tests to determine if the low platelets are truly idiopathic or related to the elevated enzymes.

Take care,
Eric
