sun burn

my son went swimming sunday and got sun burn. he took a shower because it started itching and it got worse he says when he scratches it hurts because of the sunburn. what can we do about the itching and he says he feels cold but he cant lay still. what should we do? also he says it itches from one spot to another. help us PLEASE.
