I see a cardiologist at a Children's Hospital. I'm 16 years old.
I need some clarification in my echocardiography report, which I will type here.
First of all, I had an original diagnosis of aortic stenosis.
I have had the following done:
1. Aortic surgical valvotomy
2. Ross Procedure
3. RV to PA conduit dilation - cath lab
4. RV to PA conduit replacement
5. aortic porcine valve replacement with reconstruction on right ventricular outflow tract
6. patch angioplasty of right pulmonary artery
This is just my cardiac standpoint. I don't know if this is relevant but i also have hypertension and have had 2 iliofemoral bypasses on my left leg, going on 3 because of femoral artery damage from catheterizations.
I would really appreciate it if you would read my echocardiography report below and let me know from what you can see would be the most concerning issue. My doctor did say I may be looking at heart surgery in the near future but he did NOT tell me and my family about all of the issues listed in this report, and they are hard to get ah old of for explanation.
Aortic and Pulmonic Valve Stenosis s/p RV to PA Conduit and s/p Ross Procedure.
The RV to PA conduit appears somewhat narrowed, measuring 1.8 to 2.3 cm. at RV origin and 1.5 - 1.7 cm mid-conduit. Unable to visualize branch pulmonaries arteries. Doppler predicts a 73-78mmHg peak systolic gradient across the pulmonic valve, with a 33-34 mmHg mean gradient. No pulmonic valve regurgitation. The aortic valve is not seen well. Proximal ascending aortic flow as measured in the apical five chamber view is normal at up to 114 cm/sec. Distal ascending aortic flow as measured in the suprasternal notch view measures up to 189 cm/sec. Trivial to mild aortic valve regurgitation. Flow in the descending aorta is increased at 325 cm/sec. Borderline right ventricular enlargement. Mild tricsupid valve regurgitation. Doppler velocity of tricupsid regurgitation predicts a right ventricular pressure of 50 mmHg plus the right atrial pressure. The tricupsid valve E/A ration appears normal by PW Doppler and reversed by tissue Doppler. Normal left ventricular chamber size. The LVPW and IVS measures at to slightly above normal limits for BSA by m-mode. Normal left ventricular systolic function. Normal LV diastolic indices. Trivial mitral valve regurgitation.
I obviously don't know anything about the pressures and what they mean, etc. I do have a lot of tiredness, dizziness randomly, and shortness of breath with limited activity. I also can feel my heart beating pretty fast a lot in my neck and my chest similar to palpitations.
