popping sound in lower leg

by fishhawkdog, May 29, 2008 10:48AM
I have this popping sound at the inside of my lower leg about half way down when I walk. It feels like two bones catching on each other and then releasing. You feel a click and hear a popping sound. It only happens at times maybe once a week. If it happens more than 5 times, say with 5 consecutive steps it becomes quite painful.  Has anyone else experienced this or know what it could be, maybe a tendon or something?

Thanks much

David
