fibroid possibility

by Allie13188, May 29, 2008 11:25AM
i'm only 20 years old, but i'm having extreme pain in my lower, central pelvic area, with pressure and back pain as well. i had a cystectomy on my right ovary in january, had subsequent ovulation pain until they took my IUD out, and had migraines in response to the Nuvaring's hormones a month ago. now there's this pain that's so bad i have been in bed nonstop for the past 4 days because it hurts to sit upright or move around, and it also hurts to urinate when i bear down and i'm getting a lot of gas.
i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what it might be. there's no weird discharge, no fever, and blood counts are ok, and i know i don't have an STI, as i've been with the same guy for 8 months and we both were tested.
my thoughts so far are PID, endometriosis, adhesions (from the cystectomy and an older appendectomy), or uterine fibroids, which seems the most likely at this point. the doctor at Kaiser won't see me without an ultrasound and all my old records, so i dont see him until tuesday and i'm getting scared because i'm afraid of infertility.
if anyone has any ideas, that'd be great.

Have you tried to call your gynocologist for advice? Did you remember having these symptoms before you had your cystectomy? The only other idea that it could be is a late reaction to the hormones that the Nuvaring was putting into your system? If you can take Tylenol, or some kind of anti-inflammatory meds, (like Advil or Ibuprofen) to help with the back pain. ( I work at a Physical Therapy office, that's why I suggest the anti-inflammatory meds.)  Hope you feel better soon!

yeah i cant see him until i have an ultrasound so the earliest will be tuesday. didnt feel it  at all before. i'm taking/have tried taking ibuprophen, tylenol, celebrex, and lodine for the NSAIDs, and percocet, vicodin and ultram besides -- none of it is working. i'm at the point where i'm just taking something to sleep so i dont have to deal with it until i can see the doc.
thanks!
