My husband was dianosed w/ GERD and hiatal hernia. He had a Nissen surgery done & hernia repair at the same time. He is still having difficulty breathing after meals. Especially when sitting and leaning forward postition. He has seen Gastro, ENT and no one can figure it out. He has had MRI's CT scans and they can find nothing. HELP!!!! He is so frustrated with the situation he won't see anymore doctors.

Hi samiam08,
Sometimes the fundoplication may not be successful and the problem may persist.
Esophageal manometry may help to know the status of the lower esophageal sphincter which is supposedly tightened during surgery and 24 hours pH monitoring may help to know if reflux is still present.
