Is limited range of motion in neck a problem during surgery?

by capmm, May 30, 2008 01:07PM
I'm considering having a SMAS facelift, upper and lower eyelid surgery and a neck lift.
I have degenerative disc disease in my neck with some limitation in range of motion.
I've seen these procedures done via streaming video on the Internet, and since the surgeon frequently moved the patient's head from right to left, I'm concerned that my DDD will pose problems during my surgery.
What is your opinion?

Thank you.

Your surgeon should be able to evaluate the degree of neck rotation necessary to successfully perform the procedure based on your limited range of motion.  This should obviously be done prior to scheduling this procedure.  It is possible to turn the operating room table from side to side to assist also.
