anxiety caused symtoms?

Hi,

For the last few weeks I have had a strange blocked feeling in the right side of my throat but it is not painful or sore.

I do get anxious about it and it effects my breathing..it kind of feels like my airway is slightly blocked but the breathing trouble comes and goes..its mainly when I focus on it.

I am a 21 year old male. I do suffer from anxiety and I have OCB.
My OCB is triggered when I dont feel symetrical as weird as it may sound I need to feel the same way on both sides of my body and having a discomfort in one side of my neck doesnt help.

A lot of my anxiety is due to fear of being terminally ill, a few months ago I convinced myself a discomfort in my chest and fatigue was cancer and needed to have extensive tests to put my mind at ease.

I also was extremely worried that I might have HIV even though I have had no exposure..even to this day I worry that I have it but have never been exposed.

I don't know if the blocked feeling is caused by my anxietys and OCB.. the last problem I had with my chest dissapeared when the tests came back negative.

Has anyone had  any similar problems or do you think my anxiety and OCB is getting the better of me?

Thank you for your help

I suffer from anxiety also and found this website that describes a lot of the symptoms.  It helped to put my mind at ease since a lot of my symptoms were listed there as being caused by anxiety.  The throat one is on the list too.  Hope this helps.  Take care and try to de-stress your life.  No caffeine and cut back on sugar since both adversely affect your anxiety.
