Effexor, Paxil, and/or Cymbalta!?

by SorceressWillow, May 30, 2008 06:31PM
I've been on Effexor 300 mg for awhile now and it seems to help, but I also just got sober (mostly from pot -- today is day 80), so I'm confused about what is "early recovery" from alcoholism/addiction and what is in need of meds.  I have no side effects from Effexor but I hate Paxil which I was put on temporarily to help me with rage and violent mood swings.  I am weaning myself off Paxil and am down to 10 mg every couple of days.  My doctor thinks I should try Cymbalta along with my Effexor.  I have bipolar, although again, that could be due to my former drug use (much more than pot), as well as seizures which did NOT show up on an EEG.  Could be the pax, could be kundalini energy, I'm really confused. *ALL I KNOW* is that I would rather NOT start on a new drug (Cymbalta) and eventually even get off all meds.  Effexor I'm okay with.  No insurance; parents pay.  I have very broken sleeps with crazy dreams and it takes me hours to fully wake up.  I am unemployable and need help and have trouble even searching for this info as I am so easily overwhelmed.
