New red mark on my back

Hello,
I use tanning salons occassionally (a couple of times a month) for about a year or so now, but am of mediterranean descent and have very few moles or freckles on my body. Just this morning I noticed a new red mark on my back and I don't know exactly what it is. I've included a picture (the mark is on my upper right back). Thanks for any input.

I understand your concern. Try observing this bump. Is this bump elevated or flat?
This may be a pimple or acne, it may be a fungal infection. Fungal infections may appear itchy, reddish and scaly in the center. Staying in tanning salons may lead to fungal infections if their facilities , linens etc are not replaced or cleaned well. This may not be something that you should be worried about. Just continue observing the bump. If it increases in size or changes in color and appearance, then this may be something you need to show your doctor.
