AUTOIMMUNE AND HOT FLASHES

by SHARJAYS, May 31, 2008 12:42PM
I HAD A PARTIAL HYSTERECTOMY ( ONE OVARY LEFT) IN MY LATE 20'S. I AM NOW 55 AND 5 YEARS AGO WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HASHIMOTO'S. SHORTLY AFTER THE DIAGNOSIS I DEVELOPED RAPIDLY REOCCURING AND SEVERE HOT FLASHES FOLLOWED BY COLD CHILLS. THIS HAPPENS BOTH DAY AND NIGHT PREVENTING A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP. I HAVE SINCE HAD MY THYROID REMOVED AND IT WAS CANCEROUS. I HAD RADIATION THERAPY AFTER THE SURGERY AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAVE SEEN AN IMMUNOLOGIST FOR OVER A YEAR WITH NO HELP.I MANAGE THE AUTOIMMUNE PROBLEM WITH AIR FILTRATION AND TRIGGER AVOIDANCE. IN SPITE OF THAT I STILL HAVE QUITE A FEW SINUS INFECTIONS TO COPE WITH BUT MY WORST NIGHTMARE IS THE INCESSANT HOT FLASHES. CAN YOU OFFER ANY HELP?  THANK YOU, SHARJAYS.
