painful colonoscopy

yesturday i had a colonoscopy which was the most painful experience in my life. At first i did not feel or even know who i was until the worst pain ever hit me they gave me more seditive and my blood pressure drop very low. No one explained why and i am very worried why this happened.

I have had many colonoscopies and most without a sedative and Its uncomfortable especially when it first goes in but I have never had extreme pain like your describing,except one time when I was having just biopsies done but not with a colonoscopy.Sounds like your doctor messed up or something was wrong for you to experience so much pain with it.You really need to question the doctor about it.Did they find any problems when you had it done? Hi.  The colonoscopy, while uncomfortable, should not result in that much pain.  The pain may have resulted if your doctor had difficulty maneuvering the scope because of abnormalities in your colon's inner surface (for example, if he had to guide the scope around a large mass).  Of course, the pain could also result from improper technique used in handling the scope.  You do deserve an explanation from your doctor and I think you should talk to him about it.

I do feel 'a bit better' about it HOWEVER, I was conned into thinking a cystoscopy would be okay, and to a degree it was, but it was very, very embracing [waiting, but not the actual procedure] and their were lots of nurses [student I guess] they were short in height, wore green aprons, green masks and hats and white wellies... honestly, if I had been unconscious and woken-up there, I'd have sworn I was being probed by aliens.  Again, though their was no pain, my bladder was filled [by them] and it's never comfortable to have a very full bladder, and when I pee'd after, that did hurt.  That's why I got really nervous about your story of the 'other' probe, but I do feel assured after reading the replies and your last message, thank you.

My god, your freaking me out i have had 5 or so of these and have always been put t sleep, i cant believe they do them when your not asleep.
