Hepatic Tumor and High Speckled ANA

by lmwhite59, Jun 01, 2008 04:22PM
I have a hepatic lesion that is 4 cm.  It was initially believed to be a hemangioma but after having nuclear red blood tag study it was deemed to be another type of tumor either Adenoma or FNH.  The lesion is vascular and has a central scar present.

I have been experiencing pain on my right side for over a year now and it is just below the ribs.  I had a TIA the first part of May this year and just picked up my lab results from the hospital.  The results had indicated that I have high speckled ANA and my Platelet Function Test showed prolonged values wth vWD and Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia.  It was suggested either uremia (kidney problems) or von Willibrand's disease.

Testing for Lupus was also done at the hospital and it came back negative. My globulin values have been low and IgG sub-classes 1, 2, 3 & 4 have been low for the past two years.  Anion Gap, AST and ALT was low  in hospital.

Any suggestions on what testing should be done besides biopsy since the hepatic lesion is vascular and could these values represent hepatic cancer?  Thank you and I appreciate your assistance!

This is a question you may want to direct to Dr. Pho on the 'Ask a Doctor' forum. However, be aware that a fee is charged for Dr. Pho's answer and make sure to read through some of his answers before you post. There are apparently some facets he believes should be answered only if he has all the data in front of him.
