Hi
i have been to my doctor about this but the best they can offer is diflucan please believe me when i say this is not thrush almost every time myself and my partner of seven years have sexual intercourse i am fine for a little while then i seem to become dry, then afterwards i will feel slightly swollen and tender then the next day i will feel bruised and very uncomfortable then the day after that i cannot go to the toilet without excruciating pain there are obvious signs of swelling inside and slightly white patches inside i have tried every thing for thrush and cystitis i have also tried changing my diet as i thought it my be an allergy of some kind as i have had times when this will develop even if i havent had sex i have been tested for stds etc it came back clear i read somewhere that vaginal eczema can carry many of the symptoms i experience please help if you can as this is awful and after years and years of this i am getting really depressed as it affects everthing from my sexlife to exercising to walking my children to school
kind regards

Hello,

I have no obvious answer for you.  I suggest you see a ob/gyn in your area who specializes in vaginitis and/or consider seeing a dermatologists.  An exam in the presence of these findings would be helpful and a tissue biopsy might provide some insight.

I'm sorry for your frustration and hope you find the help you need soon.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
