Report: UCLA gave transplant to Japanese gang boss The Associated Press

Wow - I wonder who's American relative got bumped down the transplant list for these evil b*stards?  Bad enough they cut the line but considering the quality of their lives and what they do for a living..........I guess they figure mafia dons deserve it as long as they give enough money.

Just happened to read it and thought it might make other people as furious as me.

Things like this just HAVE to be stopped (but I guess as long as there is $$$ in the world, greed will win every time).

gotta be a way to stop that.

OK so I was only mildly P'O'd until I read why...

so if a guy helps the FB! they go to the head of the transplant list?

crime really does pay.

(well we always knew congressmen went to the head of the list.....and they're all criminals..so why should this surprise me??)))

Not sure why it would susprise you or anyone else. It is a well known fact that having money will get you the best healthcare. This is no different. Just like the people with money will go to other countries to buy organs from poor people that need money to feed their familys. Lets face it most people would do the same thing if they had money and time was running out. Human beings are going to do what is nesscery to stay alive, including spending money if they have it. Not saying it is right but just the way it is.
Money talks and BS walks!

I agree with your statement.

However, so many people here in the US die daily
waiting for a liver or other organs, not enough to go
around as it is.

Yet, they found him a liver?

Some here in the US have no insurance have no $$
It is sad.

I met a gentlemen yesterday at the hospital who is in the
same boat..no insurance and needs a liver TP , taking a bus
by himself to get to the hospital. I felt so bad for him.  He
was all alone.
My human response was just that to reach my hand out
and help him.

Hugs
Elaine

I doubt that the criminals in question here suffer from the same humanitarian feelings that you do.

I think deals with the feds could/should include prison medical care, etc. But jumping the UNOS list ... no way should this be allowed. Someone else paid with their life for that information (weak as it was) provided to some fed prosecutor. I am outraged.

I agree with you Brent
I did say "he got a liver'? in response to copyman
There aren't enough livers to go around as it is.

(I really did help someone I met at the hospital though)

I was agreeing with you about the mobsters! :))  It really makes me mad that that happened, as I am sure it does to you.

Best to you and Nick,
Brent
