Im going crazy over ALS

by sweguy2, Jun 03, 2008 01:36PM
Hi there!

Here is my story!

Last summer I went to Bulgaria and got a widespread rash all over my body (also was a little sick).

After that I began to have extreme health anxiety..

11 week after I got this lump in the throat feeling that was making me crazy! I went to a ENT doc and he did not see anything (videocam into my throat and CT scan). This feeling came and went away for some time.

Then I began to have these weird feeling in my legs, heat sensation and little pain. Also I was always waking up with a headache and was having chills at the daytimes and myoclounus jerks of my hands and feet.

I went to a Neuro and told him my story and he did a clinical exam on me. He thought it was RLS (Restless legs syndrome).

shortly after that I began to have these fasciculations all over my body, I mean EVERYWHERE.
I panicked about ALS and this is the time that this fear took over my live.

I've been having these fasciculation for 3 months now and the lump in the throat is back and it's making me have difficulties speaking at time :(.
I've also notice that my left lymph node is swollen just where my throat hurts.
Sometime I'm having troubles swallowing my saliva, but it seems that food and drinks are no problem.

The Neuro sent me to a EMG last week and he said it was clean, that didn't comfort me much because of thinking I have bulbar als and the EMG can't detect it.

I really can't live with this fear and I think im losing my mind :(
Im only 24 years old and just finished college.

Is my live over, and do I have ALS? :(:(:(

I forgot something..

I've also been experiencing tremors in my hands and when I stick my tongue out, it shakes.. I dont know if my tongue has always been like that though, i've just recently been obsessed about it.
