ER visit and what to expect

by JessHW, Jun 04, 2008 10:39AM
We had to take my husband in because he had a deep gash on his leg and urgent care, the free clinic, thought it was to sever for them to handle.  We have no insurance and the did an X-ray of his pelvis and a CAT scan to make sure he didn't hit his head to hard.  They determined it was not all that deep and gave him five stitches. I need to know what to expect as a bill so I can relax a little and make some kind of attack plan. Any help would be great. Thank you
Jessica

We also applied for CICP, a colorado help plan but I have no idea if we will be accepted or how much it will help.

Dear JessHW,

It sounds like Cat scan & Pelvic X-ray was done at the ER in a hospital setting. You can look at the previous posting from Versloe who posted his services & how much he was billed for those services. Please note that his visit took place in New York, which is most likely priced slightly higher than Colorado. Also read my response to him to learn how you can negotiate those charges with the hospital.

Sincerely,
