adderall problems

by bs601, Jun 04, 2008 12:43PM
Before I start my question I should prolly make a few points before I do, I smoke, I drink about 2 red bulls per day, and I am currently on adderall 20mg's 2x's per day for add/adhd. I think that this med is killing my heart, I have a background of mitral valve problems in my dad's side of the family. The other day I went to the dr's and had my blood pressure taken, at the time it was 150 over 100. I eat relatively well and exercise daily, I was at the gym before I had it measured but just the same thats freakin high! I am 6'2 and weigh about 165, so I think I am in good health physically. But, sometimes early in the day I get "tingly" feelings in my left arm, and sometimes feel dizziness, sometimes palpitations as well. I dont really want to say anything to my Dr. because its going to set me wayyyyyy back in both school and work if I was taken off this med. I was just wondering if anyone may be in the same boat that I am. I don't abuse this med but I do drink caffeinated drinks relatively heavily, and smoke about 1/2 a pack a day.  I was thinking about getting a echo test done on my heart to see what is going on, this all could possibly be anxiety and ALL in my head too, but who knows.
