bleeding after IUD insertion...

hello dr,
i m having bleeding for last 3 days after the insertion of IUD multiload 250 n also there is some pain n cramps in the lower abdomen.is it the normal side effect of IUD insertion?

Hello,

A woman can expect cramping and mild lower abdominal pain and irregular bleeding up to 2-3 months after an IUD placement.  In most women these symptoms don't last more than a few days or weeks.  If you are not feeling better in 2-3 months follow up with your ob/gyn.
