Hi I posted this below in your other question:

Hi, are you brand new? If so welcome. You came to the right place. I didn't do the Oxy's but the norcos are pretty much the same thing.... I may not be exatly the guy to reply but here goes.  I know about the Tapering program not working, I have a black-belt in it AND cold turkey. Many people have here, done it, but I'm not one of them. If you can do it that would be fantastic! I'm trying to give inspiration here and I'm not doing a very good job, but the fact that you are here and asking is great. You're thinking about going from 80mgs to 20. I'm sure that it would be better than CT but can you do a long extended taper with your doc informed as to what you are doing???... also, colonidine, which is a blood pressure med worked wonders for me and ask your doc about that. It is prescribed for that specifically in many cases. At your level, it would be a good idea to try say like 6 weeks of tapering? [hey people in the forum, help me with this] I did a 6 week thing with suboxone but had some, not a lot, of trouble with it. Please don't let me scare you, We have to get clean and it does take some work... do it for your life.

good luck and stay close to us, we want to help

Jim

Correct me if I'm wrong but FLaddict has a good taper record?  I think?  I hoping that Fladdict sees this.

i would say, if you have someone you trust with this, have them hold your stash and dole them out to you, maybe one less every day or every other day... til you are down to none.

personally i went c/t.  from 8-10 norco a day.  it SUCKS - there's no way around it.  but i've read enough to know that i WILL LIVE. and not only live, but thrive...

i also decided to go back to my therapist, and i think that was the catalyst when i saw the horror in her eyes when i told her about my addiction. right there i decided to stop.  amybe for alot of people it's good to find out what pain you are hiding from...

i'm on day 3... it's way better than day 1 and 2 - lemme tell ya!

it does suck - i will not lie - but it DOES get better.  and a life on drugs is NO life.  my life was very full before this sh**, and i intend to get back there.  you CAN do it.  and ask for help if there is anyone you trust...

good luck, friend..

with love,
mj

Thanks for the input. I went from norco to Oxy which got me in this mess. I don't really want to go to the doc's because I think I'm just to embarassed. I'm going to try the taper thing, keep your fingers crossed.

Tapering is hard... a small amount of people can do it.. I did it prior to going on Sub for the week to kick completely.. You should cut a half a pill every 4-7 days.. generally.. How much are you taking per day?? How often do you take em??

About 80 per day. I was off for 2 1/2 day then just had to kill the withdraws with  a 20mg. Feel much better, but not high.
