Rash at multiple locations

by itchthis, Jun 05, 2008 08:14AM
I'm a 30 yr. old male, never had any problems like this ever...

About 2 months ago, I started getting itchy eyelids, within a few days my eyelids (upper) were clearly puffy & red, a little around the area too. From there other random parts on my body started getting itchy, soon developing into rashes   (a spot on one arm, another on one thigh) Pretty much at the same time my penis started getting it, starting with the head, along the back of the shaft & the scrotum as well. The genital area was the itchiest, I'd wake up at night & find myself scratching. At first I thought I had a yeast infection, I had gotten a bad one before & the head of the penis looked like the beginning stages of my past yeast infection. But this time is wasn't really pus/white looking, only dark red/dry/scaly...My wife actually had some type of cream prescribed to her years back for anal itching, can't remember what it was exactly but some type of high strength cortisone-type cream, 5-10% something like that. I applied this to my genital area at night for a week, everything seemed to clear up, eyes were back to normal...

Now about a week ago now I started getting itchy eyelids again, withing 2 days it was back again, the same thing only it seems to be the entire eye area this time, not just the upper eyelid. You can only see the red/puffy area directly around the eyes, but I can feel the skin down to my cheekbones. At the same time that started I got these itchy spots on my forearms, both sides. I have two little red rash spots on both, at exactly the same spots on each arm. Last night  I took a bath & I can see what looks like the same thing starting on the head of my penis. I got out of the water & after 10 min.  it seemed to go back to normal, but whenever I get int hot water in the shower again this morning you can see the red spots on the head.

Before this spreads more again, anything I can do? I have some 150mg tabs of Diflucan we have around the house for yeast infections, if it's fungal would this help? Any help appreciated, thanks.

***Note that about 1-2 weeks prior to the first outbreak, I began taking an ECA stack, (24mg ephedrine/200mg caffeine/half an aspirin) 3 times daily. I have taken this before for years (in cycles) without any problems. just in case I stopped taking it, still had rashes for 2 weeks after. I started taking it again about a week before this second outbreak, stopped right away as soon as my eyes starting getting it, but that was a week ago & it's still getting worse. Just thought I'd mention that in case...Besides that I lead a fairly healthy lifestyle...

Hi,
It seems to be an allercic re-action.B oth aspirin as well as caffiene can cause allergies.
Do stop taking ECA stack first.
Then you can take an OTC anti-histamine medication. This will help controlling the allergic out-break.
It will take a week or more for it to settle down.
You could also visit a dermatologist for an opinion.
