post treatment problems

I had 48 weeks of Peg Interferon and Ribavirin 2 years ago and have many problems such as severe ocular and facial rosacea, joint and muscle pain, heahaches, severe fatigue, memory problems and depression. Has anyone researched the possibility of lasting post side effects or can you help me research this??

Dear sadd,
We sometimes see a post interferon hangover for a year or so after treatment. However, those are not usually the symptoms you describe. Sounds like there could be long lasting depression and you need to seek help for that. If the interferon kicked off a depression then you need to get help! Go get some! DTD

I was on the same medication for 6 months and can deeply relate to what you describe in ongoing symptoms. Needless to say this medication has caused a change in my life.

Thanks for your answer...I do see a psychologist and take an antidepressant. The other problems are chronic and hard to control. The ocular and facial rosacea is very severe and I see many on this forum and other forums that have rosacea after Interferon and Ribavirin. I also have Sjogren's syndrome now too after Tx.. My Internal medicine physician does think that the Tx. has caused problems with my immune system and the general weakness. What are your thoughts on any way to boost the immune system?
