cellulite

by funkylady, Jun 10, 2008 07:58AM
Hi

I am 21 and I am horrified at the sight of my lower leg, it's got lots of celluite.  I have had weight issues in the past as when I was a teenager  I was very thin and was constantly eating to put weight on.   I stupidly thought at the time that I should avoid excercise as this always seemed to burn off any weight I put on.  Now all the junk food I have eaten in the past has caught up with me and I have bad cellulite on my lower leg.  I don't know why I only have Cellulite there rather than the more common places like bum and thighs, at least if I had it there no one would see it so much.  I am so embarassed that I don't like to wear shorts in the summer and It is really hot now.  I am not sure if I am in the right part of the forum to post this question, but I know a good diet is important for getting rid of fat.  The only problem is I am a very small person, I am not sure what my weight would be in kg or Ib as my weighing scale measures weight in stone, I normally weigh about 7 or 8 stone.  What sort of things should I be eating to reduce fat?  I will be doing a lot more excersise now.

Is it possible to get rid of cellulite through good diet and lots of excercise?

From what you have stated you are the normal weight for your height. I would recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats. Eat low fat meats (chicken, fish, loin of pork) or non-meat sources (soy products, nuts), low fat vegetarian combinations (rice & beans, pasta & beans, low fat cheese & pasta), low fat and substitute dairy products (1% milk, low fat/fat free yogurts, low fat soy milk/soy yogurt), use plant oils, non trans-fat margarines, and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Eat daily high fiber breads and cereals (oatmeal). This diet is healthy all around to keep your body healthy. Walking would help you too. Suggest going to your MD to be checked because fat usually does not deposit in the lower legs.
