Ovarian cyst??

by lgellert, Jun 10, 2008 05:45PM
I have been having lower left pelvic pain for approx 7-9 months now. It comes and goes, sometimes being tolerable while at other times I can barely walk. Due to lack of insurance I had been unable to seek medical care until just recently. Other symptoms are irrgular menstruation (my LMP was 5/25-5/27). I have history of multiple births. Twin live birth, and triplet miscarriage.

My pelvisc US revealed the following:

Right Ovary Slightly prominent measuring 3.1 cm x 3.9 cm x 3.5 sm for a volume of 22ml with at least one dominant hypoechoic follicle measuring 1.4 cm with additional sub centimeter follicles. Arterial and venous flow is demonstrated with no evidence of torsion. A hypoechoic tubular density is seen arising from the right cornu extending to the right adnexa could be a slightly prominent fallopian tube.

Left Ovary Normal in size and echogenicity measuring 2.5 cm x 2.0 cm x 1.6 cm with small peripheral follicles. Arterial and venous flow demonstrated.

No free fluid.

Impression: Normal appearance of the uterus and left ovary. Right ovary is enlarged and there may be very mild prominence of the right fallopian tube. MRI is suggested.

My physician has not returned my calls yet (it's a clinic - so who knows when they will get back to me!!) Do I need to be concerned? Does this show cysts? I've had ultrasound of thyroid before and know they typically will diagnose and state "cyst" if it's present. (I have a complex cyst on my right side of thyroid 0 not sure if that has any signifigance.)

Thanks so much!!
