Motor tics

My son has had tics for a few years now. He is 11. However, his latest one is driving my whole family crazy. It's a high pitched squeek! He can go hours w/out it, or do it constantly!! I read NOT to tell him to stop, but it's driving us crazy. What can we do to stop/decrease it??

PLEASE don't tell him to stop it! Believe me, I understand the frustration. I wish that I could offer a solution, but I can't. Try calling your neurologist or psychiatrist for a medication adjustment, or maybe just a mild relaxer. I understand the necessity for a calm family environment when there is a TS child who is a member among us!
