Sebceous Cyst: is having pain with this normal

by tammyjtucker, Jun 10, 2008 08:56PM
(The topic is wrong).

I have had a large hard inmovable knot/bump on my head for many years and have never had any problems from it. This year however it seems to be getting bigger. I have had more frequent headaches but not severe ones. Yesterday for the first time a very hurtful sharp explosion of pain shot from the location of the knot (in the right side of the top of my head) down to my right eye. The highest level of pain was quick and only seemed to be at its hightest as the pain was moving to my eye. I was taking notes in class and i dropped my pen like I was unble to use my hand briefly. There was residual pain but mild in the area. The knot was not sensitive yesterday or last night. However, today the knot is sensitive and more "shots" of pain are occuring. I feel dizy at times and I was nauseated for most of the day. It is not a migraine. This pain comes and goes but the area around the knot is sensitive.

I went to a dermatologist in April who told me that I had a Sebceous Cyst and was not a big deal. Now I am unsure due to the recent pain. Again I have had the knot for many years and never had any pain from it until yesterday.
Please note: I had hyperparathyroidism and had a parathyroid removed in 2003. I have had the cyst that i can remember since 2000. THis is the only cyst i have had.
Please help.
