BAD MORNING, AGAIN

by boogie2, Jun 12, 2008 08:38AM
Again, I woke up this morning in an anxiety attack.  I got up out of bed, went to the recliner, and turned TV on.  As I started to relax again, I felt the attack coming on again.  It makes me feel so sick at the stomach and weak.  What can I do?

Hi, yeah, I know exactly how you feel - every morning I wake up, I'm fine for the first like 5 mins and then as soon as I start thinking about the day ahead, I just turn into a nervous wreck!  That same thing happened to me last night when I got home from work - I had felt like a wreck on the bus going home and then calmed down once I was in the house watching TV, but then just before my Fiance was due home, the feelings all came back and I too, felt really sick to the stomach and couldn't even face my dinner.  The sick feeling must just come from the fact that we get so scared and worried but it's really horrible!  I always end up taking medicine to settle my stomach but I know that's not the long-term answer...!

I feel your misery.  I, too, woke up in an acute state of anxiety this morning.  I do almost every morning anymore. It gets old :( But I started Prozac this week (just 5mg, as it my first time on ADs) and I noticed that I had less anxiety yesterday morning.  Not so much today, but yesterday was good.  I feel hopeful that this med will make a difference.  Perhaps this is something you should consider, too.

Although I don't have a magic spell to send you to make it go away, I hope that you feel better soon.  Stay as strong as possible, and together we can all get throug this :)

Welcome to the morning anxiety club!  I suffer with that every morning...some mornings, very very little...other mornings I have dry heaving.  It usually goes away after about an hour.  Once I am showered and READY for my day...whether it is going to work or home on weekends, I find once I am ready to begin doing what I need to do I feel better.

It is so part of my normal routine that I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have it all the time!

I always admire people (like my husband) who can turn on the news and have a cup of coffee and just relax before starting his day. I have to get up and go or else it will last and last.

I have no answers for you....like I said, working through it and getting "ready" for my day helps me.  I wish you the best to find the answer that works for you.

Ha---I like that "morning anxiety club" Yes--I'm like you---if Ijust lay in bed, it seems to get worse and worse, so I have to get up and do something.  And I also get so jealous of my hubby who wakes up so cool, calm and collected every morning...he actually "needs" caffiene to get him awake.  Must be nice! haha

Hi I was just curious what qualifies you to be having an anxiety attack in the morning... Do you think when I wake up with shaky hands and worrying about how i feel in the morning... is that an anxiety attack... or what would be the characteristics?
