Numbness

by deary_godie, Jun 12, 2008 06:22PM
Hi, I am seventeen years old and I was diagnosed with JME about two years ago and am currently on a low dose of topamax. My JME is supposedly inherited from my mother but recently I have been having some odd symptoms that she never had that I originally thought were due to the medicine but seem to have no pattern at all. There originally started a numbness in my hands that tingled, and then my feet started to do the same thing. Then the lower half of my face and my lips. Now my legs and the tops of my arms are becoming numb and tingly. The feeling comes and goes but in my lower face it almost never leaves. Also on my palms and fingers in certain areas when I am NOT having the numbness a feeling develops like my skin has been very badly scorched, however there is no visual indication of injury. These things are becoming worse and I was just wondering if possibly the JME could have been misdiagnosed and this is all some other condition or if it is the medication or if it's something entirely different. thanks

im not sure wat jme is but when i went on anti-depressents for anxiety. i had similar reactions to the meds everything you just described except the scorching... i though something was really wrong with me because i looked up everything that can cause tingling and theyre is some scary stuff... but then i decieded to check my meds on the net because i had not had these symptoms b4 and it turns out it does casue tingling/numbness... but i diddnt find this on every site becasue it wasnt a major symptom or common. but if u got urs after using medicine then check it out-
becasue i stopped and no more tingling after a couple days

hope u feel better
