Depression due to Testosterone Undecanoate

by PANKAJJAIN, Jun 13, 2008 02:43AM
In April 2003 I had a malarial fever and after four months later, Sept. 2003 I had a Durabolin Injections up to six weeks. After that again in Oct. 2003 I had a malarial fever and after two days to get rid of the weakness I started taking Testosterone Undecanoate Cap. up to week I was feeling better and healthy. But one day due to some reason I had shouted loudly to my brother and after that I was unable sleep whole night till three to four days. So started taking Alprazolam 0.5 and stopped Testosterone Undecanoate. Then after that I use to feel depressed in minor issues. This happened four times in two days. Then I went to Psychiatrist, he prescribed Escitalopram for one month and then Venlafaxine with Extended Release for another one month. Then in May 2004 after that I went to Psychiatrist, but he was out of station, then I decided to take again Testosterone Undecanote Cap. But after three hours I started feeling like vomiting, mouth was drying, frequent erections, and can’t sleep whole night. Then in the early morning I had a Vertigo up to half hour, then I also had vomiting, till evening I had a six to seven times Vertigo and I was in full major depression. When I sleep I can hear as if noisy machines are working in my ears and I was unable to move myself this thing goes about half hour, as noise stops I am able to move myself. And as I move my eyes left right or up down I could hear the same machinery noises. This thing continued till I got malarial fever after two months. And then I use to get very painful headache in left or right side in that my right or left around the ears also pained so badly that I had to press the painful side with the pillow. This thing continued till a year till I got another major depression when I shouted to my father due to some issue, I felt sweaty and low. After that I had not took any medication and I still trying to recover naturally but I am not feeling ok as I was before April 2003.

Steroids (Durabolin/T-undecanoate) + Major infection (malaria) = major depression. Yes, it can happen, I had almost the same thing: two major viral infections within 6 months after stopping Nolvadex (tamoxifen) (I was on it for 1,5 year). Huge anxiety, insomnia and the rest. I suggest that you check your T-levels.
