Baby kicks and movements.....Should I go to the DR?

by adawning4, Jun 13, 2008 12:52PM
I am 28wks 4days, and have not really felt my baby move today. I woke up at 7:30am and my stomach was hard and umcomfortable for a while, I fell back asleep about 20 minutes later and it was still tight. But now I have been up since 9:30am and have only felt maybe 3 very very light kicks. I feel some pushing in my upper belly, but no kicks. I have drank ice cold water, ate some chocolate, drank cold milk, ate peanut butter rice cakes, layed down for 30 minutes and nothing. I have checked his heartbeat and its still 143 like normal. Should I call someone or go to L&D.... My doc is not in Fridays after 11pm its now 1:50pm. Should I worry or is he ok. I have been focusing very hard on noticing his movents but he's just not moving. I am driving my self nuts trying to make him move.....

Thank you
Heather

I am also 28 weeks, and I dont feel movement all the time, I do however feel a hardening in my stomache, which my doc told me is the babies moving and pressing, If you are unsure call the L&D and ask them what they think, also even though your doctor is not in right now, you can still call the office, you will get the exchange and the doctor on call will call you back in give you direction, good luck

If you are worriied and stressing thats not good for you and baby either.  You could always go and have a Non-stress test done at the hospital.  Just go to L&D and talk to someone at the nursing station and they will help you out.
I had a this done because I felt less movement than usual and it put my mind at ease.
They monitor you baby for 30mins - 4 hours...depending on the situation.
Best of luck

Thank You both.... I am trying not to worry about it but still pay attention. I have still only felt the pushing. No real kicks like normally. Yesterday he was very active and now today he has me worried. I dont really know why but I am terrified that something will go wrong and I so dont want that to be the case..... Thank you. My husband wont be home till about 7:30-8:00pm so maybe if nothing has changed I will go then.
