i delivered my baby aat30 weeks and he received surfactant and was mechanically ventillated for7 days then he develops septicemia , thrombocytopnia blood culture shows klebsiella infection and he received imepenem for 14 days he became well and discharged home after 30 days of labour in home he was well on oral feeds,after10 days in home,  suddenly he develops fequent attacks of apnea and addmited again in nicu the investigation was free the ct scan shows unremarkable finding and chest-xray was free the c- reactive protein was negative and complete blood count was normal except for mild anemia csf analysis also clear with no neutrophils and after consultations they told me the diagnosis is either reflux so they give him domperidone and erythromycin or he may have some sort of central hypoventillation

My son Jacob was born at 32 weeks.  We did not have to stay at the hospital after he was born but we did return when Jacob was 5 weeks old because he turned blue!  After several test they determined he had apnea because of extreme GERD.  Jacob was put on Prevacid granuals and wore the apnea machine for almost 10 months.  They also determined that the second opening into Jacobs stomach that opens and closes had not fully developed and all he needed was time to get stronger and bigger and it would go away.  And it did!  By the time he turned a year old it had completely gone away and we have not had to worry about it since!   Good luck!
