It is quite possible that it is a false positive. This is sometimes the case when your IgG score for HSV2 is <3.5. You can ask your doctor to have the laboratory perform an inhibition assay on your blood sample. Alternately you can (a) have your doctor send a blood sample to the university of washington or (b) order a biokit HSV2 test.
It may be worth your time (and money) to post this in the expert forum and ask the doctor for information that you can print out and take to your doctor.
In the meantime, you should still take precaution with your partners while you sort this out.
